So shocked and sad, dearest Emma. I'd hoped we'd see far more of each other when you moved back, though our schedules tended not to match much, but it was brilliant to be in touch again and to see you when we could manage to coincide. When I'm feeling especially sad about you, I like to imagine you, joyfully if all too soon, reunited with your beloved father, and various others who have gone before us, in what you may recall my Daddy always called "that great pub-shop" in the sky, where the conversation is always congenial and they never call time.
